We had last Monday the first program of the tour. It took place in the Fine arts school of Cartagena - Colombia.  We were lucky to give the realization to little bit more of 100 students.

Today we will head to Quito and tomorrow we will start our programs there.

There are important changes we would like to announce.

Remember the old colonial theater where we were planning to have the main public program in Quito?

Part of the main stage got damaged and is under restoration. The city decided to change the venue for a more modern bulding, yet very spacious, with about the same capacity of the previous option.

Recently, the yogis were contacted from the administration asking if we have applied for the different permissions which are required by the law in order to have a happening there. From the beginning nobody told the yogis about this new burocratic process and those applications requires more money and time.

 They consist in a permission from the fire department, disaster management department and a third one that we cannot remember at the moment.

As a solution we decided to change the strategy: increase the number of programs, in smaller auditoriums, which are under the care of universities, schools or private sector and they have already applied for those permissions that we were not informed before.

With this solution we will use the money donated by many of you, and keep the target of giving many realizations.

Nevertheless, at the end of the tour we will have a finalcial report with all the details and in case that there is some money left, we assure that it will be use in a future sahaj project.

Additional programs in Colombia:

As many of you know, in order to reach Ecuador, we will travel from Finland through Colombia. There we will have few days of rest before the dinamic tour will take place, starting in Quito - Ecuador.

Anyhow, we will stop by a beautiful city called "Cartagena de indias". With the years the collectivity has been decreasing. We would like to help to boost the energy in the few yogis living there and with the help of the Colombian yogis, we will have a program in that city.

During the colony Cartagena was a very important city for the Spanish crown. All the treasures of  South America, were shipped from this city to Spain.

Mother visited Cartagena before Sahaja Yoga was established in Colombia, due to a diplomatic visit with Her husband. The lady who was in charge to be Her translator, contacted the yogis years ago when she saw a poster of Nirmala, the lady with whom she got a beautiful friendship.

She told many things that happen with Shri Mataji during that visit in 1979, but we recall a happening told by Mother Herself:


"I was surprised when I went to Colombia, I asked them, they had a condor as their emblem for navy, and I said, "How condor is your emblem?" because condor has nothing to do with the navy.

They said, "Our old Indians have told us that a God called Shri Vishnu," just see the name, "came on a condor." And really condor is the conveyance of Vishnu. Can you imagine? I was amazed at this".

Cartagena is the city where the navy has its headquarters in the country.

The same day of our return to Finland, 16 of October, in the capital city of Colombia, called Bogotá, we will held a program for the students , in the Catholic university called Pontificia Javeriana.

Both programs are arranged by the Colombian collective and the money collected for the Ecuador tour is not going to be use for this purpose.

The last but not the least, is our constant request to give us your bandhans and vibratory awareness.

We will travel in two weeks and we will try to keep you updated with all the details.

More help is needed!

Travel to another country and setting up the logistics of a journey to several cities requires money. We are still lacking 1200 dollars to make it possible.

101 dollars which were lacking from the last fund-raising in order to complete the target, plus 1099 dollars that are needed for paying two halls in Cuenca and Guayaquil, as well to help the transportation, food and accommodation for the artists and the translator. The people traveling decided to cover all their expenses from their own pocket, but we are trying that a small percentage could be covered by collective money too. 

In Finland we have been fund-raising inside the collectivity and it hasn't been  enough. That's the reason why we are starting this new request for help. 


In case that the money collected in Finland plus this international fund-raising will exceed the targeted amount, we will donate the money which is left to sahaj projects in Finland.

Dear Sahaja yogis and Yoginis,

The big public program will take place the 13th of October and we will arrive the First of October to cover the media interviews, programs at the universities, local organizations and street realizations.

We need a very big bandhan that the president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa will accept to have a meeting with us. His secretary has said that there is a possibility in his agenda for 5 minutes.

Important changes

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Through a Skype meeting which took place during the last weekend, the organizers of the Realize Ecuador decided to change the dates of the tour due to the following factors:

- Five universities of Quito have expressed their willingness in using their main Auditoriums for Sahaja Yoga programs. Many of them told that the dates chosen before (From the end of June till the beginning of July) are difficult for advertising because the students are in their final exams and are heading for holidays. October was a month recommended to us. 

- At the same time we got amazing deals to fly from Helsinki to Colombia and from there, we'll reach Quito much cheaper. These sales will save us lots of money, comparing with the prices for June. 

- The City hall in Quito has availability for October, as the other contacted organizations as the Women's NGO,

 media and schools, among others. 

NEW DATES!

Later on we will confirm on this Blog, the date of the main Public Program in Quito, once the City will provide us 

the details.  But we will have the tour between the 1st - 13th of  October, 2012. 

We will try to keep the main plan to visit the cities of Quito, Cuenca and Guayaquil. 

We would like to inform that changes might come and everything depends on the possibilities and eventualities 

that might arise during the planification. 

It is very important for everybody who is working on this Tour, that all of you who have given your generosity in the form of vibrated attention, willingness to join us and monetary donations, can follow step by step what is the situation with the Tour, until it can be  possible to report about the amount of realizations given, all the activities and a detailed expenditure document.  

So far our budget is planificated like this:

-We can use for free the university halls in Quito.

- Because we are a non profit organization, the cost for the City Hall in Quito is 2500 US dollars, instead of the normal cost of 4000 US dollars. Also the City Hall will allow us to advertise in their big banner with Mother's picture and the information of the main program.
We only have to pay 250 US dollars for this. That's a total of: 2750 US dollars. This money is coming from international sources and it's going to be covered by donations from different yogis around the
world.

- The dancers will pay their flight tickets from their own pockets, the original cost was 1400 euros,

now is only 654 euros to Bogotá - Colombia and from there it might cost less than 200 euros. 

- The budget for the staying and transportation between the cities of Quito, Cuenca and Guayaquil, plus the payment of the halls in the cities of Cuenca and Guayaquil gives a total of 4.300 euros. This is
being fundraised in Finland. Nevertheless, we are managing different options to reduce this quantity of 4.300 and in case we collect it and less money is used, we will refund it to the general account of SY in Finland for future sahaj projects, as we agreed with the Finnish Council.  

As you can see this is a very big organization which requires lots of help and generosity, there is a big work going on in Quito by the yogis making contacts, involving the government, media and other organizations in order to have a big impact, meanwhile in Finland a group of yoginis and yogis are making different activities such as selling food or cinema nights for the yogis to fundraise the rest of the money. Appart of that, our dancers are practicing very hard due to so many presentations, so they can offer some variety in all the different programs and events we will have. 

All in all, this feels very auspicious and there is lots of joy in this planification, things are flowing and at least we got 3000 views of Realize Ecuador within March and these days of April.

Jaguars, spectacled bears, brown-headed spider monkeys, and plate-billed mountain toucans they all just breathe a little easier because Ecuadorians approve a new constitution in a referendum in 2008 that  grants these threatened animals' habitats with inalienable rights.


The new constitution gives nature the "right to exist, persist, maintain and regenerate its vital cycles, structure, functions and its processes in evolution" and mandates that the government take "precaution and restriction measures in all the activities that can lead to the extinction of species, the destruction of the ecosystems or the permanent alteration of the natural cycles."



Dr. Mario Melo, a lawyer specializing in Environmental Law and Human Rights and an advisor to Fundación Pachamama-Ecuador, said that the new constitution redefines people's relationship with nature by asserting that nature is not just an object to be appropriated and exploited by people, but is rather a rights-bearing entity that should be treated with parity under the law.
"In this sense, the new constitution reflects the traditions of indigenous peoples living in Ecuador, who see nature as a mother and call her by a proper name, Pachamama," said Melo.


No other country has gone as far as Ecuador in proposing to give trees their day in court, according to an Article in Los Angeles Time. 

Chapter: Rights for Nature

Art. 1. Nature or Pachamama, where life is reproduced and exists, has the right to exist, persist, maintain and regenerate its vital cycles, structure, functions and its processes in evolution.

Art. 2. Nature has the right to an integral restoration. This integral restoration is independent of the obligation on natural and juridical persons or the State to indemnify the people and the collectives that depend on the natural systems.

Shri Mataji said in Colombia that there is a story in the ancient texts about Shri Vishnu. He got tired after the creation and disappeared from Vaikunta and hid in a secret place to rest. For our surprise we heard from Shri Mataji, that He was hidden in Colombia and Deities have visited this part of the world long time back and surely this land was called with another name.


During those times, there were not the divisions between nations and brothers countries like Ecuador and Colombia were not delimited as such.

The Valdivian culture of Ecuador, is one of the most ancient cultures in South America, and in the world. Archaeologists have dated many of their signature "venus" figurines to as early as 3500BC. The artwork of the Valdivia is remarkably well crafted for its time, comparable to later art.

No doubt they knew about the Goddess-Mother and still She is worshipped there as Pachamama (which literaly means Mother-World) among the indigenous.

when the spanish came and forced the indigenous to take to christianity, a fervor to Mother Mary was developed, even in the actual days. In other words, a transference of the hidden devotion to Goddess was projected to the Mother of Jesus. 

The "Virgen de Quito" (Virgin of Quito) is the most representative figure of the capital city of Ecuador, standing on the moon: an ancient symbol of the Goddess, She is throwing a rope to save the lost souls and even though the snake is a symbol of the devil in the Cristianity, in the aboriginal tribes is very much connected to the Mother archetype.

In the middle of a hill in the city of Quito, "Virgen de Quito" is visible from many places, contrasting with the beauty of the Andean snow mountains.

We pray to Mother, that this ancient devotion to Her will lead the seekers of truth to get their realization. May Her vibrations freed this corner of the left vishudhi of the world.

You're not only for a secluded, some group of Sahaja Yogis, you're not that. But you have to articulate, you have to circulate. Now for that, what should we do. You have to understand that we have to form other groups, other things by which we can circulate.
Let's see now in England: - we can form some societies. Let's form some society which are not, which are not are what we call them as the Sahaja Yogas, because you are different from them. So now let us form some societies. We form certain societies, say let us form a society where we talk about the decadence of this country; how the decadence has come in, why it is there, why are we spoiling our young children, why are we behaving like this. Let us see. Let us start a society under this name.  
Let us start a society which will fight all social problems
Like, let us I said in India, let us start a society which is against dowry system.

That's how you'll circulate with them and later on when they come up to a point they will see your character and then you can talk to them about Sahaja Yoga."

AMUME  

Amume, is an acronym in Spanish language which means Association of municipalists women of Ecuador, at the moment we are looking for their cooperation to develop a public conference regarding the role of women in the society and a Kuchipudi workshop as a tool of cultural interchange. Of course, this is a a very good opportunity to bring the realization to many women.

In South America many women are abused, some of them are still used as slaves and usually they earning less than the men, in case they are paid. Ecuador has a very big indigenous population and many of their women are rejected in the society since the colonial times.

"If the media help us, you see, understanding how important it is and vital, that it should grow in these countries, because in India it's much easier, much easier, I mean thousands and thousands it's working out in the villages and all. But here, you see, media's so important and so powerful. Thank God we are not so developed, so we don't depend on media so much in India (laughs) and the newspaper people also understand that truth has to be there, and they help us, they have been very helpful in India, compared to here. Here nobody wants to even publish an article on Sahaja Yoga - nothing. Can you imagine? Nobody wants to do anything about it"

The media in Ecuador 

During my last visit to Ecuador in 2008, we had a public program in one of the big halls of the city. The yogis had contacted several TV channels, radio stations and news papers. The media was very open and helpful, the journalists made very good questions and we had the opportunity to show Mother's picture during the TV interviews.

I remember very well one of those questions: "A recent investigation in Ecuador states that a big percentage of the polulation have very low self esteem, specially the young people. Which one of those chakras you have been talking about is related with the self esteem and how to overcome it?"

This gave me the floor to speak a lot about the meditation, left vishudhi and express our invitation to the youngsters.  

In Latin America we haven't had problems with the media and normally they have been very kind towards Shri Mataji and Sahaja Yoga. If you have something which involves foreigners, an newfangled technique or something which attracts the attention of the audience, the media is willing to cooperate.

This time the Ecuadorian yogis have been contacting the media already. They said that we will have a very good support of the media. There is also a new seeker who is a journalist, and he has started making contacts with his collegues.

We got a very beautiful feedback from a yogini, stating that this project is in the spirit of the Guru Puja talk 2008, to form groups, to join the effort. Combining the ones who can go there and help, and each one of us with some little amount to give them a hand.

All in all, we feel things are flowing very smoothly and beautifuly, your enlightened attention is very valuable, so the aim of this project of bringing the self-realization to many will come true.

"All of you are part and parcel of that, all of you are part and parcel of that and all of you are important. All of you have to support that, all of you have to raise it. It is very important, you all should understand your own responsibility. So between South and North America we have to at least have 16,000 Sahaja Yogis. Krishna was very clever, He created his 16,000 powers into ladies. Then these 16,000 women were taken away by one king and he just kept them. So Shri Krishna went and defeated that king and brought all the 16,000 powers to himself, very nice. He could do all those tricks, not Me. I have to have 16,000 children who are human beings and who get this power within them."

The auditorium has a capacity for 2.500 people and is located in the center of Quito, inside the historical old town. 

 
It was built between 1879 and 1987 and it is considered the most important Theater of the country and a symbol of its culture.

So far three universities have confirmed the willingness to borrow their installations for our programs and we will have the chance to reach hundreds of students.

The local yogis are looking for more spaces to bring Shri Mataji's realization to as many as possible. At the moment many other options are being considered, from a program in the presidential house to street realizations in the most neurological places of the city and parks, like the traditional park called La Carolina:

Realize Ecuador Tour 2012

The tour will start the 25th of June making small programs in universities' halls in Quito (capital city) which are for free. The 1st of July we will have the main Public program in the City hall of Quito, it's a one of the biggest halls in Quito, fitting 2500 people. Because we are a non profit organization, the cost is 2500 US dollars, instead of the normal cost of 4000 US dollars. Also the City Hall will allow us to advertise in their big banner with Mother's picture and the information of the main program. We only have to pay 250 US dollars for this.

The second week we'll have programs in two small cities by the coast called Guayaquil and Cuenca. There, the yogis will deal with local organizations to have auditorios for free. We will end our tour around 9th of July.

Julia Shanckari Sinitsyna from Russia and Jessica Heinonen from Australia, two Kuchipudi dancers are going to give the artistic flavor to the tour.

The collectivity of Ecuador counts with very few Sahaja Yogis, we need your help to make these events possible, so that many seekers of truth will get their realization.

"I will be there with you"

During Diwali puja 1997 a present from Ecuador was given to Shri Mataji. Mother asked when Sahaja Yoga has started there and the yogis told Shri Mataji, they were looking for Her blessings to do so. She replayed: "I will be there with you"

The following year we had the first public programs in the city of Quito and many yogis from Colombia came to help. That's how everything started.

 This miracle picture was taken to Shri Mataji in Brazil. She said that the vibrations drew the the map of South America.
